I have been kayak fishing for a while now, paddling and fishing is fun. However, lots of the spots I would like to fish are just not that great to paddle and cover alot of water on. I ended up picking up a bass pro pond prowler II (sundolphin sportsman). Anxious to get it in the water, for now will just be a 55lb trolling motor and will add a small 5hp later on. it is 4x10 in size and extremely stable. I just need to make a casting deck, move over the Humminbird and add some extras to it. The kid is ready as well

Man I always see those things for sale on CL and the like.

IMO a 12’-14’ Jon boat is a better option. It’ll handle a little bigger water should you want to take it somewhere and you can put a decent motor on it too. Still usable rowing or with a trolling motor, fits in a pickup bed.

How close are you to water, that you’re fishing so often?

Dad, uncle and myself are heading to lake heideckie Sunday. Trolling for musky and probably smallmouth fishing too.

That is a monster!

I'm going to call him 2faced, he has one side of his upper jaw missing (side facing). I've caught them with both sides gone(never formed) first time catching just a one sided one.

I got Waters/Spots all around me in every direction to fish.:luda: Some are 5-10 minutes away and some are 1/2hr or so of travel.

?Good Luck!

The reason i did not go with a jon boat is simply for the stability of the pontoon style of these, these are meant to stand up and fish. Im not saying a jon boat isnt cabable of doing that. However, with that in mind and a also a 2 year old daughter, the more stable the better.

Edit: I aslo dont fish big bodies of water, here in texas where i live we have a ton of rivers streams (Colorado) and a lot of the place i like to fish are Trolling Only such as Lady Bird Lake and Lake Pflugerville.
