Jeep guys will be in the ditch
Diesel guys will be on the shoulder

This weather is for sure going to damage some egos

Christ yes. This am I was behind a Z71 GMT8500289471639 with 35s that was doing 15 below. But I can't blame him, was an iron worker so maybe he was still drunk.

Also behind a 4 door jeep with tires that wouldn't pass the county plow..... Ugh

Maybe a dumb question, and I know TCG’ers would never judge me on this but if diesel does gel over, if the fuel ruined it will it be ok once it warms up?

Yeap. 90% of the breakdown is caught in the filter where fuel actually gels/waxes/solidifies. We've never pumped a tank out, just topped off. So if it gels. Best to let it thaw naturally, change fuel filters, then top off with fresh fuel at every available time

A few of my drivers swear by this stuff: Beyond that I'll be plugging in as many as I can tonight and moving as many in doors as possible. I'm responsible for 10 of a fleet of 250, I plan on all 10 running tomorrow. Problem with the new ones is they won't idle more than 10 minutes, so you can't leave them running.

Leave them in gear, use parking brake and chock the wheels.
It will stay running, guy at Ryder told me that this morning.
I didnt think that was too safe, and thought he was BSing me.
He said he was serious. My driver tried it in a dock this afternoon and said it stayed running.

On a couple of our newer trucks with the California clean idle BS, I set the idle at 1,000-1,500 with the cruise control. And it’ll run all day.

Even our older trucks I will still set the idle with the cruise just to keep the engine temp up.

But these are all Peterbuilts, Kenworth and a Freightliner. Not pick ups.

But the one F550 with the clean idle BS, I/we wedge a wood lathe on the gas pedal and seat to keep the idle up at about 1,000 and heat on all day. I like my shit warm. Never been an issue.

Rented a Brand new International(only had 400miles on it) a few months ago from Penske to move my Mom and sisters down to Tampa and it didn't shut off...:dunno: Got held up in bigtime traffic/accidents and heavy storms, made it to Florida/Georgia border and parked at a TruckStop and napped with the A/C blasting for 4hrs because all Hotels were booked up that we could park a truck of that size at.

Electric cars will keep on movin...... with reduced range haha. :)

I used 50 miles of range to drive 35 miles the other day when it was -10 or something. Fuuuu

I was actually wondering about if Tesla’s and other 100 percent electric cars get reduced range when it’s this cold.

I would have imagined there is some sort of battery heater or something to prevent that. IDK.
