🔧 BUILD GTPpower's 05 F-350 6.0 PSD

General Information

I need a way to help me keep track of everything I'm doing to this thing.

I bought it from a dealer on 02/01/17. It needed an oil cooler and possibly a headgasket. I farm and own a construction business, so reliability is a main concern. I took it to a diesel shop a few weeks later to get the following done.

-Headstuds
-4" Turboback Exhaust
-Edge CTS2 Pro with Gearhead Custom tuning
-Edge EGT Probe
-Mishimoto Coolant Filter
-Valvecover Gaskets
-Rear Main Seal
-Updated Oil Cooler
-Rear Cover Gasket
-Updated Turbo Feed Line
-Rocker Box Gasket
-Injector O-ring kit
-Heater Tube O-ring
-Motorcraft Crank Sensor
-Passanger and Driver Glow Plug Harnesses
-Hpop Gasket Kit
-Updated Turbo Oil Drain
-Standpipe & Dummy Plug Kit
-Blue Spring Kit
-6.4 Pushrods
-6.4 Lifters
-Cam position sensor
-Racor Oil and Fuel Filters
-5w-40 Synthetic Oil
-CAT Extended Life Coolant

Got it out. I pounded a 5/16" Allan in there and popped it with the impact. I'm half tempted to weld the socket in there and install it on the driver's side.

What a great day to do an oil cooler.

The coolant looks terrible imo. This is what came out of the radiator. There looks to be tons of rust in it.

How long does it take you to flush one of these with vc9? It probably took me 7 hours today to do all the flushing. I got almost nothing else done.

Antifreeze drained into left bucket. Vc9 flush in the right. The vc9 is noticably darker. ( Black)

Finally got it pulled inside the garage after I finished all the flushing. My garage is 23.5' deep, so I would have no room to work if I pulled it in all the way. So I left it sticking out and taped it up with plastic.

Here is the upper radiator hose. I cut a section out of it. There is a noticable sediment buildup in it. A magnet doesn't appear to do much with it though.

Also when your flushing, along with radiator drain, disconnect the lower hose at the radiator. The shit you'll get in there is all the gunk. It's a pretty healthy burp too so be careful.

Vc9 is obviously working but your system is too much for it. Change all the hoses, heater core, etc then you're back to flushing unfortunately.

You need a t30 ball socket to remove the rear oil cooler cap. Then you can jam a hose in there and back flush oil cooler, with lower hose disconnected.
