basically any four of us can max out the raptor payload capacity just sitting in it
“this 5 seater $65k truck is designed for off roading, so long as you don’t have any passengers with you”
lol
Yesterday afternoon at Lowes I watched a guy load bags of sand and brick pavers into the back of his Cherokee. He was just starting when I walked in and I said, "that load is way beyond what the car can do."
It'll be fine, I've done this before.
"Ok."
As I"m walking out he has just finished. "Told you it would be fine". The cherokee looked like a dog dragging its ass across the carpet. I peeked underneath. "Yeah, cause you're sitting on the bump stomps."
He drives out the east access which has a rise then a big dip before you hit the street. I could hear some part of the vehicle scraping the ground as he left. NFG.
For what it's worth, because now I'm curious. SuperCab is 980lbs. SuperCrew is 1337 lbs (for MY2014)
also it's surprising to me the supercab is less than the supercrew, that should be reversed unless somehow the supercab is heavier than the crew? is that real?
First result of my search...omg...these guys are idiots
1000lbs over max payload capacity - should I be concerned?
So...long story short...I ended up driving around 40 miles this morning with ~2,300lbs of salt bags in the bed of my truck not realizing that I was a WHOPPING 1,000 lbs over my max payload capacity (based on google saying ~1200 average payload capacity)! Only have ~1100 miles on the truck, but...www.fordraptorforum.com
$1400, pretty simple solution
Deaver Gen 2 Raptor Rear Leaf Springs
Deaver Gen 2 Raptor Rear Leaf Springs Add a set of Ford Raptor Gen 2 Deaver Leaf Springs and get your truck ready for better off-roading. Order your aftermarket truck mods from Offroad Alliance.offroadalliance.com
This is why when people make fun of Raptor's tow rating I always fucking laugh. 99.9999999999999% sure Ford just pulled these numbers out of their ass to prevent guys doing dumb shit with the squishy suspension.

EDIT: Here's the same NADA info for a SuperCab: https://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2014/Ford/F150-Pickup-V8/Supercab-Raptor-4WD/Specs

Besides being a longer wheelbase, the SCrew also has stiffer leaf springs (guys with SCabs specifically buy the SCrews to get more lift in the rear instead of buying $1500 3rd party leafs). Yet when you look at a 2014 F150 with a 5.0 suddenly it has 3k payload and can tow 13000lbs. Fucking okretard.
As for the 17+ trucks, no idea and literally don't care because I'll never own one until they put a V8 in it.
