Nope no Dragy, but I might get it.

One slight snag. The clearance is so tight between the top of the caliper and the wheel, it must have contacted when i was doing the digs. Not sure how. Those wheels has 8th inch clearance to the top of the caliper and now there is a small scratch that goes around 3/4th the inside of the wheel... Slightly annoying but whatever. Passenger side only. I pulled off the wheel and it was diffinately the caliper. There is a small chip in it right in line with the scratch line on the inner wheel. Not a big deal. DRs are for the track only. I was going to run them on the street too, but the car is not making enough power to warrant a 24/7 DR. They are nice for the occasional dig on the street, but now that I got that 3.3, I dont see it getting any faster without a trans tune.

But man thats annoying seeing that brand new wheel scratched on the inside of the barrel. They were specifically for the ZL1 rears and should fit and not contact at all. How would that happen with an 8th clearance there. They are torqued to 140ftlbs and the alignment spacers are on the hub. So strange. Now I have to touch up the caliper. And to think I took my time to get them on with no damage to the caliper whatsoever when I mounted them to the car...

Essentially have 2 choices:

  • Use the car for icecream runs and car show events (don’t forget to pick the stones out of the tires before putting on the car cover)

  • Enjoy the car and understand shit will happen, from chips / scratches to parts breaking as a result of driving the car as intended

Would bother me too..[emoji37]
Yeah just sucks because the DRs are literally brand new. But I guess broken in now...lol. Oh well. Im going to assume the rock theory was what caused the scratch and just keep using them. I pulled that wheel off last night and verified it was on and TQ'd correctly and there was no contact and nothing else touching the wheel at all.

So maybe 1 in a million shot that a rock got in there when I was doing digs last night.

I plan on going to the track again this coming week so I will keep them on until then, and then swap back on the stock wheels after.

The car absolutely RIPS with the ESC completely off and having total traction. I was blown away with that 3.3 to sixty. Thats moving.

This car is a blast to drive. I love it. Man I missed having a camaro.
