Word on the street is Flores wants a top 5 QB and a GM he can work with.

Local reports are saying Flores, Pederson, and Daboll arent even in the running and didnt get 2nd interviews.

Before anyone gets all excited about Sean Payton leaving N.O. (breaking news), he's under contract through 2024. If some other team like the Bears wanted to hire him, they would need to TRADE something to N.O.

Last head coach trade was Gruden to Tampa for two 1sts, two 2nds and $8 mil.

Poles has extensive scouting experience, where he’s overseen all aspects of scouting players, helps with free agency preparation and assists GM Brett Veach with the NFL draft.
Poles has been with Kansas City for his entire NFL career, which spans 13 seasons. He’s seen how a successful NFL franchise operates, which is something the Bears would like to replicate. The Chiefs have won at least 10 games in each of the last six seasons, which also includes two AFC championships and a Super Bowl.
Given Poles’ scouting background, it’s worth noting he was part of the success Kansas City has had in the NFL draft. He has an eye for talent that would be vital to an organization. There’s also the Chicago connection as Poles signed as an undrafted free agent with the Bears in 2008.

Why did Poles want the Bears over the Vikings? Might have something to do with Kirk Cousins 2022 salary? $45 million. Will the Vikings keep Cousins at that price in a bad QB draft year? Regardless of what you think of Fields, he is going into his 2nd year of a rookie contract and is a cheap QB.

Always good to take a guy away from a division rival while getting him yourself. Kwesi probably headed to Minn. now.

After researching Poles some, I like his extensive college scouting history. KC's drafts during Poles time with the team have turned out pretty well. Mahomes, Hill, Kelse, etc. Also like the fact that he survived 3 GMs and kept getting promoted during his tenure in KC.
