Yes repops and 1970 is one year only grille and emblem. I still remember when the first repop grille came out like 15 years ago and they looked like crap in person. Now they’re cheaper, injection molded and painted correctly.

This is where I left off for the night. Left two bolts in the fender to core support just because I didn’t want them hanging there all night. Hoping I can snake it out and get the new one in without fuckin with the fenders much.

Looks like I have to pull the bumper and then can drop the core support down from the bottom.

I like the newer one. But, it is going to look good either way. I guess I would only use the newer one if the paint looked excellent.

Yes.
I have been watching Roadkill and Vice Grip Garage. I can be appreciate getting something running and enjoying it.
Plus my dad had a GS and they are not often seen at car shows.

I don’t know, I hit my head on the lower quarter panel the other day and a chunk came off

Meanwhile my bumper bolts came right off by hand

Of course I can’t find my core support body mounts. I’ll have to look thru my bins. Right now it’s just sitting on the old ones with two fender bolts.

I’ve done a shit ton to this thing but nothing really worth posting pics about.

Wired up my fans and line lock

Swapped my master cylinder for a 15/16 bore since the 7/8 had so much throw and talking with Wilwood about it. They feel awesome now.

Welded up my inner fender and painted it and installed it.

Exhaust is fully tacked together and still need to drop and finish weld it (need to use up my tank and refill it)

What’s left:
Figure out the best mounting for my fan controller without drilling holes (might swap to a smaller coolant overflow bottle)

Drain and fill fuel tank

Get to aligning the front end and tighten everything down up front

Finish filling rear end and trans. Need to bleed coolant system and power steering

Order 3 point belts and get those installed in the front and rear

Update, it won’t start and the carb looks like I’ve just poured smelly old fuel all over it. I overhauled it with a can of brake cleaner.

Picking up a new coil on my way home. Once I have spark again and it idles I’ll decide if I’m tossing some gaskets on this crusty quadrajet or making a poor financial decision with efi
