🔧 BUILD My junker Buick revival....

General Information

Doubt anybody cares but figured I had my cucv build here so why not. This is my first car when I was 16, it's a 1970 Buick gran sport. It was slightly less junk then but not by much. It got parked after the trans gave way as well as the brakes. It sat for many years outside and then a few years in a garage. I was finally able to go and get it last week.

Getting it off the trailer turned into a hell of a thing as well. A neighbor walking by was kind enough to help out.

Got to work today on it. Checked the oil and threw a battery in it. Gave it a bit of spray and she fired right up. Steady oil pressure and a bit of an exhaust leak. Seemed to idle oh so nice for sitting for a good 8 years. RAN WHEN PARKED

Yep, leaking.

Wasn't done for the day. Decided that since the engine seemed all good for now, might as well get going on the trans.

Are these repop parts? I'm presuming so. If so, the aftermarket has gotten really awesome these aren't exactly as common as a Chevelle SS.
Yes repops and 1970 is one year only grille and emblem. I still remember when the first repop grille came out like 15 years ago and they looked like crap in person. Now they’re cheaper, injection molded and painted correctly.

I have been watching Roadkill and Vice Grip Garage. I can be appreciate getting something running and enjoying it.
Plus my dad had a GS and they are not often seen at car shows.

I’ve done a shit ton to this thing but nothing really worth posting pics about.

Wired up my fans and line lock

Swapped my master cylinder for a 15/16 bore since the 7/8 had so much throw and talking with Wilwood about it. They feel awesome now.

Welded up my inner fender and painted it and installed it.

Exhaust is fully tacked together and still need to drop and finish weld it (need to use up my tank and refill it)

What’s left:
Figure out the best mounting for my fan controller without drilling holes (might swap to a smaller coolant overflow bottle)

Drain and fill fuel tank

Get to aligning the front end and tighten everything down up front

Finish filling rear end and trans. Need to bleed coolant system and power steering

Order 3 point belts and get those installed in the front and rear
