🔧 BUILD My junker Buick revival....

General Information

Doubt anybody cares but figured I had my cucv build here so why not. This is my first car when I was 16, it's a 1970 Buick gran sport. It was slightly less junk then but not by much. It got parked after the trans gave way as well as the brakes. It sat for many years outside and then a few years in a garage. I was finally able to go and get it last week.

The uncovering aka barn find status.

Emersonhart13 and I were able to get it on to the trailer (my brother helped)

Getting it off the trailer turned into a hell of a thing as well. A neighbor walking by was kind enough to help out.

Got her over to her spot so the wife can potentially park in the garage again

Got to work today on it. Checked the oil and threw a battery in it. Gave it a bit of spray and she fired right up. Steady oil pressure and a bit of an exhaust leak. Seemed to idle oh so nice for sitting for a good 8 years. RAN WHEN PARKED

Yep, leaking.

Wasn't done for the day. Decided that since the engine seemed all good for now, might as well get going on the trans.

I dunno, for $120 I'd probably be welding in a piece of bar with the MIG or something. If you're serious enough to be doing coil overs etc. sure couldn't hurt stuff to stiffen it in the back. Not like there's a ton of metal there.
The coil overs have been on for a while. I thought about that but at the same time welding under the car directly above my head doesn’t sound fun

I'm not even at the body work stage, right now it's metal/rust replacement

From what I have seen of the whole car it doesn't look too bad, hopefully this buick goes much faster than my rusty chebby.

In for moar updates!
She needs new quarter panels, trunk floor, core support on passenger side and some small patch work on the fenders. Not the end of the world but some shit to do. The vinyl top really fucked this car at the 1/4 panel seam to the roof. Roof seems solid though. Planning on deleting the top

Thanks for all the love of my rusty junker

I really need to go thru my cardboard to do list and reassess everything. Also need to get a parts list. Would also help if I got everything I currently have on the car. I “think” the last big thing to buy is a driveshaft.
