Flex was showing signs of imminent death, got it to Carmax and off-loaded it. Moved up my timeline on buying a car to "I NEED A CAR NOW".

I had boiled my search down to Fusions, but you have about 6 hours (4ish PM) to try to convince me to get something else, or I'm going to get the one in the link

https://www.carmax.com/car/16958170

Requirements
$20K limit
Apple CarPlay
30+MPG Highway
Warranty-able
Cooled seats are highly preferred if leather
2WD preferred but not required

And go...

Thanks guys

what happened to the flex?
Didn't dig deeper, looked like, on the ground, it had ripped a CV boot, and was flinging grease. Shop said it's coming from the top of the trans, I immediately thought PTU is about to explode, rushed home, took my winters off and threw my summers on, and sold it to CarMax

Pony up and get the MKZ 3.0TT or you'll be miserable...
MKZ's really aren't that far off fusion prices, but the 3.0T's are about $10K more than I want to spend right now. Trying to save for a wedding

Absolute lad
Could've just blown out a seal, but I really didn't want to dig any deeper. I had gotten everything I needed to out of the car, and would've been traded in sooner, if not for the wedding.

EDIT: https://www.fordflex.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8904

Looks like vent tube or seal blow. My leak wasn't nearly that bad, a couple little drops on the garage over night, and very little under the hood. No driveability issues whatsoever.

I hated the Lincoln. No shifter to rest my hand on.

I really only like the 2017+ design on the MKZ, and the dial shifter is definitely a minus.

Oh god, I've sold cars for way less. I usually just get bored and sell cars on a whim

What about a caprice ? Great option cheap price, reliable, lots of room, fancy interior.

Doesn't really get the gas mileage I want/need...I'm driving ~25K miles a year right now, and need something that will take regular and will theoretically get 30+ highway

"but muh window molding"
Funny you should mention that. I replaced mine this weekend.

$12 for each moulding, 15 minutes total time to replace and could really be 5 if you're not anal about blowing out the track and cleaning that portion of the windshield that it covers...

Seriously pop out old, push new moulding in... Eazy peazy.

And one thing I was enjoying yesterday while tinkering around with it, now that I have that RotoFab on there, you can sit in the damn engine bay and work on the fucking thing. Seriously! Stupid simple and stupid easy to work on anything in that engine bay.
