Header's look good.

And for the record, i didnt say you shouldn't try welding on your car. I just said trying to weld up your tubes and do your own brace on cast to steel is not for a beginner.

I like the rest of the car...keep up the good work.

Well im slowly but surely getting this junk box done, but every time i seem to make some progress, i take 10 steps back lol
I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Team Z rear suspension, I am running strange 1 way adjustable rear coilover springs, with the team z coilover mounting kit. (seen in the photos) and also seen is the fact that i have had to take out half of the trunk to fit the thing in..... and also cut out, and relocate the mounting spots for the gas tank mounting spots.....

The rest of the suspension is going to consist of Team Z's off set, instant center lower control arm kit
Fully adjustable upper control arms
spherical bushings
and a anti roll bar

For the transmission, i have decided to mount the shifter were the ash tray door went (dont smoke anyways) so i cut out the whole section to fit it in there. Then since my dad is into working on airplanes, i was able to find some good quality scrap aluminum, we used a brake to acurately cut out the piece to cover up the shifter bezzle. I have a painless 4 toggle switch panel that used to mount in the ash tray, but obviously it cant go there anymore, so i am going to put it in the center of the aluminum piece i made to cover up the shifter bezzle area.

I have also receieved my torque converter, but am still waiitng on the bellhousing before i can put the transmission in.

also started getting the head liner in... But still needs a LOT of work

yes a little has happened.
All welding on the rearend has been completed, and i have an appointment with hans to build my rearend for me,
Which is going to consist of 31 spline axles from strange with c clip eliminators, 31 spline spool, 3.55 gears, and strange rear disk brakes.

Am working on getting the trans put in, should be done tomorrow night when i get off work.

Purchased some canton fluid tanks for the intercooler and coolant, havnt fully mounted them (and yes they do fit under the hood)

Then i decided to go with phantom II gauges for the instruments, making the bezel out of aluminum

then mounted my painless wiring panal on the aluminum cover made for the original shifter location

a little more of the rearend

The work you've done is amazing, im completely impressed.

But.....please tell me you aren't gonna leave your fuel lines the way they are shown in the picture a few posts above.

....totally kills the look and neatness of everything else you have done on the car.
I intend no disrespect, just offering my constructive criticism.

Unfortunately that is pretty much the only options I have with the lines due to them already being cut with fittings.
I realize it's not the prettiest thing but as of right now it's what I have

Hopefully I'll be able to finish this up by summer and actually get the damn thing out on the road

you can always take the fittings off the lines and trim them and reuse the same fittings.

I'm def going to look into it but I gotto wait till I get the Rearend back from Hans and get that, my floor cover, and the gas tank back in so I know how much room I have for playing with the fuel lines

well after a pain in the ass with getting the pilot bearing out, and the torque converter not seating right for the longest time i finally got the transmission into the car! currently its just supported by a jack stand as i am going to be fabricating my own trans crossmmber with a kit from competition engineering.

also got my coolant tanks mounted! used an aluminum sleeve to give the tanks the proper off set and then ran the bolts through the sleeves

Some more updates on the project! Rearend was dropped off at Han's at dean's performance for 31 spline 4 lug c clip eliminated axles 31 spline spool, 3:55 gears, Strange disk brakes... all the good stuff (should be back this week)

Finally got around the welding the tabs on the coil over mounting bar for the gas tank mounting hardware. turned out pretty nice (i think)

Then i re made the aluminum mounting gauge bezel with a thicker, nicer piece. and it fits a lot better/looks a lot better
and of course the cheapest easiest way to get it was 250miles away from my house for almost free from one of my dads friends... so we took his airplane which i helped him build

and some suspension hanging awaiting the rearend

well got some new stuff/work done on the car in the past week.
AND i literally JUST got back from picking up the rearend from Han's at Deans performance and everything looks GREAT so hats off to him. Ran into a small problem were i accidently got 5 lug axle disks, when i was goign with 4 lugs, so i will have to hit strang up and try to exchange these.
For the exhaust im going with the stock manifolds right now, and i got the rest of the system which includes a UPR x pipe (no cats) and MAC 3" dumps.

Then i finished up the gauge cluster (still have to finish up a few connections) but you get the idea

Then i got my competition engineering driveshaft safety loop installed behind the TH400, along with finishing up the transmission crossmember (all of which has had POR15 applied to it)

And i took advice from one of you (cant remember who as i write this) but re did the fuel lines a tad bit for a cleaner look.

Then i received my steering kit from Racecraft which included grant steering wheel with a button for the line lock i will be installing, strang quick release hub, and light weight column

Then finally after busting my a$$ i got the rear installed in a matter of 45 min from when i got back from Hans's shop. Still need to adjust the suspension so the rear sits in the right spot

maybe one day this project will be finished...... maybe

main reason... car already had 4 lug weld drag lights... lol was feeling lazy about finding another set and what not.

IF the car ever gets mini tubed, has the axles shortened, or breaks an axle then i will probably upgrade at such a time.

and ya for the price, you can not beat these dumps! ps they are HUGE lol
