Yes, they look cool, and if you were in to competitively racing them that would be fun.

But if you aren't going to compete with them, they become one of those cars that needs a prepped surface and can't ever go off-road or even on uneven pavement.

A 1/8th scale brushless buggy with street tire will go just as fast in a straight line, if not even faster.

All of my 1/8th brushless stuff is ungodly fast in a straight line. They don't wheelie uncontrollably, they just get down to business.
I understand what you mean but buggies are dumb looking, I’ve owned plenty of rc shit over the years and these look cool. I’ve had horrible times with road cars over the years for sure though

Looking cool is subjective. I can take my 1/8th scale stuff out and run it on any surface with crazy speed & durability. Climb a curb, jump a house, tear through deep grass, drag race on the street. They do it all.

And that makes the car enjoyable because its not a specific use. I can use it on any surface and it does well at everything.

I know not from this century and not 1/8 but I’ve always wanted these ever since seeing one in grade school.

You all think this looks okay?

God I LOVED those AWD Tamiya's when I was a kid. I always wanted an Avante. But also wanted the Hornet, Frog, Lunchbox, and HotShot.

Ended up with a Bearhawk and I still have it, it was my first hobby grade RC.

The Avante now is an insanely expensive car for what it is. There are far better performing cars for the money, but it still looks cool. And Tamiya's where almost 50% about looking cool.

Sadly most Tamiya kits are cheap plastic tub chassis with cheap plastic pot metal Phillips screws, and cheap air filled rubber shocks...etc.

I had a Tamiya F201 F1 Car. Insane design & packaging on the car. Inboard shocks, shaft driven AWD, yet somehow packed into. scale looking F1 car body that was barely 12" long. But the materials in the kit were very cheap.

Maaaan I love this thing. It’s so much more stable than my buddies e-revo and not even in the same universe as my 2wd rustler vxl lol

Buddy did some damage to the revo on this jump. Ripped the rear bulkhead off, then flipped it without a body and cracked the esc cover ?

I have HRB’s and they’ve been solid, like $35/ea
I've always had good luck with the Gens Ace batteries. Plus, I like to use hard case batteries in my cars since they can and do take a hit now and then. The hard case prevents a puncture. Since my car doesn't have a battery case that's protected, its just a delrin tray with velcro straps.
