Did you buy all this stuff for the job ?
Yes and no.
Will use a little bit of everything for the job but plan on having plenty left. I was running low on Eraser, Iron X and Reset.
I have multiple compounds and polishes in my arsenal, including older Menzerna product but figured why not get new as well.
Also heard good things about the CG Clean Slate so figured would try it out as well.
I'm going to try a few different things to see what works best
Customer paid for it all and will pay me for my labor as well. ;)

Finally done with this 2005 300 C. Car is almost 15 years old and the paint showed it. By far the WORST paint I ever worked on. It’s not perfect but 100% better than when it was dropped off to me. Has some scratches that imo need wet sanding to get out. I tried everything in my arsenal to get them out. Was very hard to get pics of just how bad the paint was.

Washed with Chemical Guys watermelon snow foam. Hit the wheels with Auto Fanatic 12-1 using IK foamer. Iron X on paint and wheels. Then used speed master clay mitt with nanoskin glide. Washed again with Chemical Guys clean slate.

Tried a few different things for compounding step. What worked best was a mix of Megs 105 and Menz 400 on a Megs cutting pad. Polished with Menz 3500 using LC white hybrid pads. Used CQ UK 3.0 ceramic. Tires dressed with Megs hyper 2:1.

So, out of curiosity, what are your rates? I’d really like to get my 07 Silverado NNBS’s paint cleaned up, but have so much rust and rot over the rear wheel arches it isn’t worth it. Really need the whole bed replaced.

However wouldn’t mind some basic level stuff done to my G37xS coupe to freshen it up. It has that “self-healing” paint which is kind of anything but...

Looks great man !!! how did you like using the cquartz ?
Wound up double coating it as I didnt use enough the first coat. Was worried about not having enough.
But besides that I liked it and will use it again. Still gotta hit it with the Reload, will do that tomorrow morning.

My weekends for the next 5 weeks are booked. Not detailing but my actual job. Ton of overtime coming up. Gav might be interested though, he is a lot better than me imo.

Freezing temps and a garage not big enough for a full size truck may count me out.
If, and it’s a big IF I did the truck I’d be only looking for something basic, just something to give it more protection through the winter, mostly hood and roof. Like I said, there is too much rust/rot/peeling over the rear wheel arches to make it worthwhile. Breaks my heart to see the rot as mechanically she’s 100%. Even the interior is in excellent shape for 12-13 years old with 175K miles.

The car could stand to get something more involved. Plus IIRC most if not all of the surfaces are smooth without ridges for style.
