The DA at 3pm was 1613. Theres no way you would drop .4 from DA alone.

I'd have to disagree. I don't ever use corrected times, what you run is what you run. But with that being said, I ran a 12.9 in my SS, added the predator programmer which netted me 7rwhp and 10rwtq, went back to Byron with the added predator and ran a 13.4 and lost 3mph. The difference? About 40degrees.

dont act stupid.... if there was a race track in the mountains we would all be running 15s or higher..


you know troy97 with the whipple car? Look at his mods and hes running 12.1s... with a whipple and all those mods.. then look at his DA.


This just now opens my eyes that DA plays a huge and unfortunate part when racing.

I never knew DA would be such a big factor either until I lost those 4 tenths in the Camaro.

heres my take...


bone stock i ran a 13.4.

added headers... ran a 13.12. Both DAs were about the same ~70 DA.



added 3 degrees of timing, no torque management, and increased line prssure...

went to the track with over 1400DA! Ran a 13.12 (AGAIN) as it sat.


put on the bone stock tune.... remember... with a bone stock tune and headers i ran a 13.12.... so with this 1400DA.. i put on the stock tune, and ran consistant 13.4s. So thats a .3 difference..


id say the DA calculator is pretty much dead on. YEA, a 13.12 is still my PB, but the car has more power than the last outting for sure. If the conditions were exactly the same.. it would have been a 12 second car. Eveyone was running junk times anywayz, but i cant speak for their drivers




another example... at 70 DA jared was pulling 1.74 and 1.75 60's.... 12.8s all day.



at 41 with over 1400 DA, when pulling mid 1.7s he ran 12.9 and 13.0. He pulled 1 (maybe 2) 1.71 60' and only ran a 12.89.

Hell maybe both the clocks are not EXACTLY calibrated to each others spec. Im just salty that i turned down kevins party in a quest for 12s, when the DA was that high.

that is not bad stock....tune, intake, exhast and you are in the 13s all day.
