I have been watching videos on the Memphis restaurant Dyer's burgers. They have been cooking burgers in cast iron skillets since 1912. Supposedly, they use the same fat they have had since 1912. When they moved, they barreled up the fat and had armed guards accompany it to the new location. Basically they are deep frying their burgers now in 100 year old drippings. Interesting concept.

Yep. Right across the street from Pepsi. The place has amazing homemade style real food. He also makes his own donuts. It’s pricey but I haven’t had a bad meal from there yet.

Yes. They give you a pair of gloves to put on and eat it with but it was too much. I tried cutting it in half and then gave up and just used the silverware.

Not Chicago but, if you guys go on road trips, some places to try. the Heart Attack Grill burger segment is worth seeing.

mexico city best burger lists have been fairly disappointing for me thus far, as have google reviews saying some place has the best burgers then visiting and giving them a meh. so i'm brute force attacking mexico city with plans to hit up... just counted 40 on my map. finally tonight had a good one here, and in fact the best one i've had since thailand. hash brown and bacon slice on it, gouda cheese and onions.

160g, seasoned/cooked in roasted garlic, gouda cheese, bacon, hash brown, and onions. pickles on the side.

I always thought Steak and Shake had good burgers for a fast food place.

I prefer thin and crispy patties over the giant meatloaf looking things that all the hipster places are doing now.

I finally went to Kuma's in Schaumburg yesterday for dinner. It was good, the patty was huge and tasty. Overall I thought it was a bit overrated and expensive. I'd go back but it wouldn't be on of my go to's for a burger.

The original on Belmont is better imo. I went to Schaumburg once and never went back for that reason
