Looks like a hearty Texas thick bacon slice (assuming more than 1 slice) and a cheddar cheese squirt.
Very nice presentation !
Would definitely try one.
Damn. Did they really give you a plastic fork with that ?
not the most thicc bacon i had and it was fairly crunchy iirc. this one had edam cheese. probably the most common here in mexico is oaxaca, although i dont' think it's the best choice for a burger. if given a choice i pick american. the most common more upscale choice might be cheddar.
fork is metal, just looking off in the pic i guess. this was at the st. regis hotel. i had it with grilled asparagus. burger was 420 MXN and served with the most overpriced bottle of water ever (90) and i left a 15% tip. 45 would be high for water - 90 is big time wtf though. w/tip 587 MXN, ~$29 USD. not a place i will put into a regular rotation, but a pretty fantastic burger.
some other recent burger porn ones -
this one was a looker, but not the best patty, more of a toppings burger.
i'm working from a starbucks in a mall today where i just had a grocery store cafeteria burger that was punching above its weight class, although on the second floor there is a better burger spot where i had this guy.
actually today's food court one did look pretty good still too:
a nice mexican version of pulled pork one --
dante wagyu burger, possibly the best seasoned to me
cheesecake factory, healthy as fuck with the salad
plus gotta get my serving of fruit in
capital grille also great
i am skeptical there has been a person alive that has tried more different burgers in a shorter amount of time than me. i already looked up a while back if guinness had anything about this, i think no record like this exists or will be made because it encourages overeating. i walk everywhere and that helps me just get fat instead of really fat. my most non-slider restaurants/burgers in a day is 4. i average a good 20k steps a day, with the most being a day i went out of my way and got 50k, which i would not recommend.
most days i try 0-1 mexican things, 0-1 shakshukas or some tomato/egg dish i'm also looking to be a solid part of my life, 1-2 coffee + snackies, and 2 burgers of some sort. my shakshuka search is almost over. my burger list still has 20 on it. but once i'm finished, i'll definitely be able to tell you where is worth going for a burger.
2 rules of mexico i have found: if a burger place exists, there's going to be reviews on it saying it has the best burgers in mexico city - either by friends of the owner, people with covid/no taste, or hype train reputation repeaters. the other rule is: if a park exists: there's a mexican chick who can beat your ass boxing in it.
