I'll start this year's thread with the continuing Russel Wilson to the Bears rumor. Will the Bears sell the farm to buy a chance at the SuperBowl?

Donāt recall if he was any good, but the Raiders are going to be in need of OL help and there are ties to the family with the Raiders... Hmmmmm
Unless they make a prearranged deal with Seattle or any other team. I would think/hope they would want their QB in place prior to the draft.Another point with Russell Wilson is the Chicago market may be more attractive to him than Las Vegas or N.O. Wilson could make a LOT of side money in Chicago.
Still another rumor has Wilson waiting to see what kind of push the Bears make in getting set up to get to a SuperBowl with their offseason moves.
Seattle has the $39 mil cap hit if they trade Wilson before June 1. If they wait until after June 1 so they can split the hit into two years, the draft will be over. Seems to indicate they would be looking for players and future draft picks in return. Would the Bears wait until after the draft? If they don't get Wilson, they need a QB one way or another and that will influence their draft picks. Makes me think the two teams would either need to trade before the draft or have some kind of under the counter deal in place.
Twitter is buzzing....
I guess sportsbooks took down Wilson betting for his "next team" and the odds for Chicago to win the division was raised at the same time....
While thereās concern about relinquishing future draft capital, which is how you build a team, Pace hasnāt exactly hit on first-round picks over the years. Aside from linebacker Roquan Smith, Paceās three first-round picks have been duds in receiver Kevin White, pass rusher Leonard Floyd and quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
Been mentioned by myself and others a half dozen times over the last few years. But thanks for the painful reminder.Something to keep in mind...
Report: Bears 'prepared to throw a boatload of picks' for Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson
For a quarterback-starved team, the Bears are reportedly willing to do whatever it takes to land Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson.bearswire.usatoday.com
Hopefully last year wasnt a fluke lolThey just signed Cairo Santos to a 5 year/$16m deal.
5 first round picks? Say it ain't so. That's half a decade of future. It's not even possible for a team to offer 5 first rounders.
