So I picked up another M car 2 weeks ago. Most likely will be a keeper for now. Actually picked it up from a COPART auction (never done this before). Car is clean title 88k miles run and driver. Also, has a pretty lengthly service history. Why was it at COPART you say? Maybe I can share that story another time. LOL

Maybe Jimy Bilmo Dr. Jimbo can guess what it is based off these photos.

First thing to fix is DSC light coming on and light for steering angel sensor.

So the tear down begins. Have to remove airbag, steering wheel, clock spring and all the switches and angel sensor sits beneath all that crap. They are known to get dirty and you can clean them to fix and extend the life of them. So that is what I have done.

Definitely was dirty and if you ran you finger across it was not smooth. A little rubbing alcohol and all is well.

Recalibrated and numbers looked great.

Although sadly I am down a Volvo. Let my nephew borrow my sons v70 T5 5/speed over the winter. And this just happend ?. Red light runner tagged him. I don’t think insurance gonna fix this 2001 with 230k on it. Sad too since they are fairly rare with the manual trans
