The guy i bought them from literally has at least 500 tires/wheels. Im good.

Ill get you more info from work. Im saying there will be a shitload more forsale since if they were made after a certian date they are banned by the DOD.

Our shop alone needs like 87 tires just for the rolling stock we service.

Miles doesnt matter either they could be brand new never mounted still banned.

So the 350 took a shit. Wont even turn over. No idea whats wrong nor do i care, because...its ls swap time.

So, i scored an 05 chevy 2500 4x4 reg cab from a friend for $1200. 6.0 lq4 and 4l80e donor truck. Runs and drives great. He sold it cheap because he cant get a title for it and he owed a mutual friend money.

So stay tuned for ls swap goodness over the next 2 months. Goal is to have it running and driving by Oct 1st.

Started on the donor truck last night. In about 3 hrs we got the front pulled off, harness disconnected, manifolds and engine mounts unbolted. Going back to my friends shop tonight to yank the motor and trans. Burb will get delivered to his place on Saturday, which i will pull the motor/trans while he starts cutting the harness down.

Also...been daily driving the donor truck for a few weeks. Drove straight from work last night to his place. Tore the truck down and called the GF to come pick me up.:s00ls:

Made some progress tonight.

Motor had a worn down lobe and was dirty as hell. So i cleaned it up and installed a fresh cam lifters and head gaskets.

Cam motion stage 2 6.0 (210/216 .553”/.553” 116 lsa)
Summit lifters
Ls6 valve springs
New timing chain
Cam motion push rods

Going to do a finally clean up and paint it. Then its time to drop it in and finish up the wiring.

So the one part of this whole ordeal i haven’t mentioned is the T case issues.

So upon pulling the drivetrain out of the Burb, we discovered my T-case was cracked half way around the rear half of the case. It fully explains the bad leak i never bothered to diagnose and the drivetrain vibration ive been chasing, thinking it was driveshaft issues the whole time.

The problem is, its a unicorn t case. Its an np241, which chevy started using in ‘88 with the body style change on the trucks....but my suburban is part of the 88-91 carry over years for the Blazer, Suburbans and fleet v3500’s. Its passenger drop and next to impossible to find a 32 spline, passenger drop chevy np241. And few companies offer remans and even then, they’re $1500. Notpayingthatmuch.png

After some searching, i found a used rear case half on ebay for $150, and bought a rebuild kit from Off Road Design for $120. I’ll have less into fixing and rebuilding mine than I would buying a used complete unit.

Pic of the crack below. Parts arrive friday. Hopefully have it running this weekend.

I’ve casually looked for a 241 for a while now for the better low range and slip yoke eliminator kit that’s available vs my 208. Indeed hard to find. I missed what trans you’ve got and axles/gear ratios.

With a 6.0 and overdrive I’d go deep gears and a 205.
