I guess the guys at mustang source have been hard at work getting premium GT gauges working in any 2011+ base GT. So heres what we know so far.
To get 2011/12 premium gauges to work in 2011/12 base GT you will just need the gauges and a VIN for a premium GT. You can order the gauges from Tousley no questions asked, and they will program the miles at your word before they ship. Then when you are ready to install them(10 minute job), you take the car to the dealer before you do. They will do the swap, then reprogram the car with the PATS info are you are DONE.
To get 2013/14 premium GT/w track apps or Boss gauges with track apps to work in 2011/12 base GT you will need a 2013/14 ABS module from brembo car(for the track apps to work), 2013 vin number, steering wheel buttons ($19 from tousley and they snap right into your stock wheel). Alternatively you can order and install a new BOSS or GT500 steering wheel with the track apps rocker switches already installed. Same procedure except you need to get that ABS module installed and programmed with the gauges.
To get the 2013/14 premium gauges installed in a base 2013/14 GT all you need are the gauges and the button for the steering wheel if you already have a brembo car. If you you dont, you will also need the brembo car ABS module to get the track apps to work. If you no care about track apps, the gauges are plug and play for all years. You wont need the buttons either if you no care track apps.
Very cool stuff that they have been researching and testing. Swapping out those base gauges really dresses up the inside of the car. Also being able to use the track apps and all the menu items plus the my color now really makes driving the car a pleasure.
2013/14 gauges are $800 shipped from tousley with no core. They will accept your base gauges any year as a core and you get $300 back. They also sell the 13 boss wheel for like $250 and its all alcantara. Post questions here. Im going to do the 14 GT base to premium gauges swap very soon. All I will need are the gauges, buttons and to have the dealer reprogram them to work with the premium car VIN.
