Ps big cars can handle if given the proper suspension and tires. I would know with my 4300# car.

Impossible, you need a featherweight 3600# car to handle well.

Yeah because all of those F1 cars perform so much better when you add ballast to them.

Weight is the enemy when you are building a performance car.

Obviusly a lighter car is better but the mustang is not light. Suspesnion and brakes are the key to getting a heavy car to go around a track. The mustang has both, the Camaro needs one. To compare the precision needed on an F1 car to a street car is rediculous.

3600 lbs isn't too bad really considering size, engine size, wheel size, full interior and street legal.

Hey I was just proving a big car can handle when given the right supsension and tires. Yeah he might have more experience then those other two drivers but would that not be called a blowout compared to those people and there much more expensive cars? Who's to say those other people didn't have a lot of experience in there cars on that layout.

Because physics dictates otherwise. My friend has gone faster then vettes and Porsches in his stage 2 srt-4. He has half the hp and wrong wheel drive.

But 3800# is rediculous? IMO I think anything under 4K is not bad this day and age.

Is that what a camaro as weighs? I have no idea. I was just stating that for what the boss is it's not bad at all. My shitbox economy car weighs almost 3100 lbs and has half that hp.

Yes, it's a big car. The Mustang has grown heavy. My 05 weighed 3450 from the factory. I think the Boss 302 is right around 3,600 lbs.

You can throw all the suspension and brakes into a car, but the laws of physics don't change. The Camaro is a heavy car.

^for the most part you are right and I agree, but then you have cars like the GT-R that someone disobey the laws of physics. Technology can make up for some of that weight I suppose.

AWD and a DSG transmission help the GTR. A 500 lbs lighter GTR would be significantly faster.

you obviously missed my point on that cause yes a 4300-4500 pound car is gonna do well making tight turns for auto-x. A small 2800 pound car that handles on rails from the factory should do as well if not better then these bigger cars in such tight turns. Obviously this impala isn't stock and also has motor work done so on a road course this 4300 pound car will hang if not beat the vette and Ferrari cause it has the horsepower AND handling to do so. According to some people here, a 4000+ vehicle can't handle that well.

Very true, you could probably shave a fair amount of weight going rwd and manual trans, but I doubt it would be as fast around a track then.

Ford has the build site up for the Boss:
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/09/b...rator-is-live

$42,990 isn't bad for the a Boss w/ Recaro & Torsen Package.

Hah, I built a boss 302 and a 1M today. Both configurators are up for either car.
