3v mustangs were the WORST
v8 R8's

also IMO most BMW's are underpowered for what they cost. This is made worse because all BMW owners think their car is fast. The turbo i6 only makes 300hp, which is only 15-25hp more than it's n/a 6 cylinder competition (acura, lexus, etc). What's worse, the 4 cylinder is 240hp and it's offered in the giant 528i with a base price of $51k.

Hell my cheap '14 Taurus is 288hp

If we're thinking back to mustang history, most of them slower than the competition and would have a hard time beating a regular v6 sedan found on the roads today

The 5.0 couldn't beat the LT1
The 4.6 was a joke for its first 7 years of production (until the 03 cobra came out)
the 3v was a joke
the coyote engines are impressive, but once again they have been bested by the new Camaro

"underpowered" but you can't compare peak numbers here.

cuz that turbo i6 bmw will walk your 288hp taurus.

new bmw 340i's run 12.7's

1/4-Mile (sec @ mph): 12.7 @ 108.3 (w/TC on: 13.2 @ 107.3)

i mean, fuck, the new 330i's with 248 whole horsepower run 14.3's

also, no more 528i, 530i is "lowest"

and with it's whole 248hp... runs low 14's also.

OKOK KJ has shown me the light in regards to BMW, I retract my previous statement. To be honest I stopped paying attention to them when all the CPO low mile 335's became unattainable for under ~$35k. Not to mention the orange backlit gauges that haven't changed much in over a decade don't belong on a car in that price range IMO

I'm not sure of Ford's strategy as they seem to be behind GM for the past 2 decades from the factory, but the aftermarket is the great equalizer. The aftermarket for the Mustang is much larger than GM's.
