Sport-utility (vehicle), SUV or sport-ute is an automotive classification, typically a kind of station wagon / estate car with off-road vehicle features like raised ground clearance and ruggedness, and available four-wheel drive.
"SUV" is one of those things like "sports car" that people will cry about what is what. People are weird.

In my book, unibody SUV/CUVs and Minivans are the same things. Just having read side doors that open differently.

Most SUVs don't have any off-road capabilities. They are just bloated cars.

Anything uni-body is hated on.

Which is pretty much all of today's SUV's/CUV's.

Unibody allows for better handling, reduced weight and have been deemed "safer" overall than a body-on-frame SUV.

Body-on-frame is better for off-roading and generally carrying/towing more weight.

Wikipedia said:
There is no universally accepted definition of the sport utility vehicle.[11] Dictionaries, automotive experts, and journalists use varying wordings and defining characteristics, in addition to which there are regional variations of the use by both the media and the general public. Also the auto industry has not settled on one definition of the SUV.[11]

Plenty of unibody SUV's are plenty off road capable, also far less than 1% of any SUV is going to test its limits "off-road". The most off road it'll ever see is parking in a grass field for an OAR concert.
