So, after some research, it's universally known that the nylon hose autometer gauges comes with are crap. So I guess most people just put a 1/4" barb nipple right on the gauge and run a good hose.

Did your research involve seeing the last post in my build thread? ? Yeah, that nylon tube is a bad idea.

So race day is in two days, and here the car sits....



I decided that since we have nice weather this week, I'm better off putting a new roof on my house. So that's been taking all my time.




But, luckily, the car is basically ready to go. I just need to fix the boost gauge vacuum line, pull the plate off, and I can load it on the trailer. I know it wants more timing, but I'm hesitant to throw more in without knowing how much boost it will actually run with no leaks.

Just go throw some timing at it and do a few street hits before race day

Least yours has a motor in it lol, I wanted to be ready for this weekend but I've spent the last two days fighting sewer issues and might try and start dropping the k out tonight. Not that it wouldn't be my style to trash it together in short order to go break it again.

Second a couple street hits tho, pour a lil sticky down and see what ya got before throwing the beans to it and ending up like mine lol

Got my new fitting for the boost gauge installed.







Fixed all the crappy plastic tees.



She's pretty much done.




It holds boost pressure for a couple minutes now and I can't find any leaks, so I'm guessing it's just from getting by the rings and maybe the exhaust valves.

I drained the fuel tank..... absolutely soaked myself doing it. But it's got fresh e85 now.

I'm planning to head to the track for t&t tomorrow, but I'm still not 100% if I'll go.

A sweet hood scoop or velocity stack would be neat.

Maybe someday I will add a tube for a fresh air inlet, but more than likely a turbo will go there instead.


So, I finally got tired of sucking ice into the pump inlet hose, so I put a screen over the inlet.



I'm at the track. Nice day....cloudy, mid 60's for temp. I'm not hooking well, and the car is running like trash. Did two passes so far....12.5 and 12.6 both at 106mph. I'm getting 4-5 degrees of knock maybe 1 second after it shifts into 2nd gear. But this thing is not even building 10 psi now. What the hell. I fixed about 50 boost leaks, some huge, and it's making less boost than before.


M90's are dumb.

Fixed my kr. The downpipe was hitting the exhaust manifold flange. Next pass was 12.4 at 107. This was all on a 3.0 pulley. I swapped to a 2.8 and went 12.4 at 100. For some reason the car went super rich up top. Boost now peaks at 11 in the upper rpms. Right after the shift, boost drops to 9.

As fat as you have that fuel and with that little timing and for only 10 lbs to be pushing your fuel system to where it's at and seeing kr seems like somethings way off

Last pass, I pulled out a bunch of fuel. It started breaking up bad and I let off. 13.0 at 83 mph. Check out this screenshot. My maf lb/min started jumping all over, but maf hz did not. Is the afc going bad? Or the maf?

Sounds like neither to me. If the frequency is coming in nice and being seen by the PCM then I'd take that as the information not being interpreted correctly when converted to air flow. PCM going wacky?

Whatever it is, it's polar opposite of what mine did lbs/min stayed the same and mhz climbed into the 12ks I did experience the breakup but my fuel was in the 11s and 12.0 peak
