Still waiting on them. The guy straight up said "our system of valuation is useless with your truck so it's going to take some time."

Apparently they use retail listed comparables within a 50 mile radius of my house... Evidently there are none

The rental thing? My agent said I can just not get a rental, and since I pay for "premier" rental coverage they just send me the check assuming that I paid out of pocket for a rental car...

Since they're out of country and their insurance doesn't operate in the USA, my agent strongly suggested I just process the claim through my insurance (Farmers) and let them go after the other guys company.

i hope they get the other's to pay up, and cover EVERYTHING because your insurance could potentially go up, regardless of fault, if your insurance pays out, and theirs does not... since it is a collision technically and not a comprehensive claim.

Me as well. My agent said he has suggested this in the past and has never had an issue, could mine be the first that doesn't pan out? Sure. But I'm willing to take that chance to not deal with an out of country company based in Great Britain...

I JUST went through this when I was rear-ended by someone in the Mustang.

He was driving EXTREMELY aggressively, so I didn't even move until the police showed up.

I called my own insurance (Geico) and filed a claim immediatly, got the car repaired, and got the police report.

I provided the police report to my insurance, they called his insurance (whom admitted liability). Since they admitted liability, Geico actually already cut me the check for my deductible instead of me having to wait for them to pay out.

Progressive paid out all my repairs & never asked for a deductible. They initiated a "deductible recovery request" with the other party's insurance. It was accepted by them & I never moved a dime for the whole process. Very satisfied customer.
