Honestly, pop off the tailgate and sand the shit of that bottom recessed inch or so (where im assuming the rust is)

Mask it off, and hit it with truck bed coating. Done that on 3-4 Dodge trucks.

Just in the body shop! More Ram trucks from the dealer with rust issues. We have a 50,000 mile 07 Mega Cab Ram and I am putting two new bedsides and both rockers.
