Used trucks are a total ripoff imo. I'd go out and get a brand new crew cab F150 STX with the 2.7 for around 30k after discounts. It will tow everything you need, get good mpg's, and its huge inside.

:werd:

unless you "need"/want a 3/4 or 1 ton truck...

then used trucks make more sense.

likely because nowhere as many 3/4 ton/1ton trucks are being made/sold nowadays

Honestly I think that new does provide value but it really depends on what you are looking for and what is for sale and what the incentives are, etc...

That is far from a blanket statement and if you don't want a payment or only have X amount to spend then New is out the window whether it is the best value or not.

he posted elsewhere he's around 4500'...

two sleds on a flatbed trailer won't be more than 2,000lbs... meh.

Ah, I thought I saw 6k earlier in the thread.

I live at about 4500'. Lake Tahoe is at 6225'. To get to the lake I have to drive over one of 3 passes that takes me over 8000' then back down to lake level. I can lower mpg expectations- turn the truck into the weekend toy hauler and keep DD'ing the subi.
Yaj Yak You got me swinging hard on these trucks.
