CookinPellets are my favorite by far, especially the 100% Hickory, but I fuck with the "Perfect Mix" as well. I also use a 1/4 sheet pan half-filled with water shoved to one end of the Traeger (the HOT side). If you don't know the heat zones of your grill, do the white bread test. Get a shitty bag of cheap white bread, lay out a layer over the grate, fire up the heat & see how that heat distribution is.

I don't love or hate Traeger brand pellets, I like that I can get a 33lb bag from Costco on short notice if I'm in a pinch. They burn well, but the flavor can be meh bag to bag.

BBQr's delight are supposed to be really good and used by plenty of winning BBQ teams.

Not a fan of the Camp Chef, Pit Boss, Camerons, RecTec, Louisiana Grills, Lumberjack or Cooks brand pellets. Either too much ash, burn too fast, no flavor etc etc etc.

This was all done on a CampChef Pro24 then followed up on a Traeger Pro780 (which is my main setup now). YMMV.

PS,

If you guys like these CookinPellets brand, Id be down to scoop a couple pallets directly and split them up.

they do $600 cash per pallet of 50bags (so $12/bag, 40lb bags), plus my fuel/toll cost I'd like to think we could be at like $13 a bag if we had enough people hop in on this. It's like a 220mi round trip to Racine for me but could take a flat deck out there and bring back the goods.

I haven't played anything on meat street in a while. Today I played after you posted. And I won. lol Not a huge lot like you had. But my odds playing have been pretty good. I'm way ahead of the game for sure. Meat Street FTW!

I forgot to post this up. This was in a 10 Spot drawing, $35 a spot. Retail price on this is like $500-$525.

First time using Snake river farms. Got the "wagyu staples" 2 ribeyes 2 top sirloins. 100 bucks on their site now. Only thing i dont like is they arent true Japanese Wagyu, theyre crossed with black angus. And that marbling wasnt as good as pictures on website. Anyways, really delicious. So tender, ive never had steaks that jiggle so much, and even after being seared. No globs of fat, no grizzle, ribeye cut with a fork. Sirloin wasnt as tender but had more flavor. Will do again.

Hit up lone mountain Wagyu next time you get some. Their farm is right down the road from me and I have tried a few of their cuts. Really quite delicious stuff. good marbling.
