Has anyone had any experience with registering their car at friends or family's house in a county that doesn’t do emissions testing? Wanting to go long tubes and off-road h on the 13 Shelby and don’t want to hassle with the BS.

I think you need proof or residence for like 6 months or something. Plus your drivers license has to match. At least that's how it was when I tried years ago with the trans am. Instead I just did the waiver and put show car insurance on it. Thank god there are car shows every day of the week in summer.
I registered it at the currency exchange. They didn't care.
I have yet to see my title and have yet to receive my new sticker.
It has been fail but the car IS registered at a buddy's house.
Get a good tuner? My dad has an 07 supercharged Mustang that wouldnt pass. Found a good tuner and no problems since. Plus runs better haha.
This is not the case anymore. The ILEPA will fail you if you have a certain number of systems listed as "Not Supported". Now if it is just turning off the rear O2's you might be fine, start getting into more than that and it will be very difficult. If you do not drive the car that much you can file for a show car exemption through the ILEPA.
Just put high flow cats on it so I don't hear your old ass bitching about the fumes or it's to loud..........blah blah blah........you're old.
It comes with probably the highest flowing cats you can get. The problem is:
1: They wont last long at 700-800rwhp
2: I want the exhaust to sound good, headers get you there
3: You're a douche nozzle
Yes, it changed about a year ago. I passed IL emmisions with my 03 Cobra for 8 years straight with it tuned and many things showing "not ready", then all of the sudden it wouldnt pass anymore. It was a pain in the ass.
1: You are old
2: You are still old
3: You drive like my grandma
They have these wonderful tools called tuning software. Lets you do all kinds of whacky shit like turn off CEL's. I pass emissions like a bauce!
Why not add a swappable piece after the long tubes? Swap in cats a week before emissions, swap out with a "test" pipe afterwards. They do it with imports all the time
I've got it figured out. Mustang Depot sells an 02 device. It's not a simulator in the traditional sense. It screws into the rear 02 port and then your 02 sensor screws into it. It's essentially just taking your rear 02 sensors out of the exhuast stream and making them think you still have cats.
