ill be the guy who goes a little deeper into this complaint. you are comparing a game that ran in what, not even dolby pro logic and didnt support any sort of speaker setups. compared to a game that uses 7.1 surround sound and with GT games the sound you get while in cockpit view has always been the sound of the engine itself, not the exhaust. with that said, i dont think GT has ever been great at sounds so im not defending it one bit, i dont think it does anything great for exhaust notes but to be fair, remember its like comparing apples and oranges. nfs games that were more recent are the exact same. you use a camera mounted up front, you get the sound of where that camera is relative. outside the car views were the best if you wanted exhaust notes.

again, not defending gt games here at all, just putting some more info out there as to why comparing the 2 doesnt really work. add in the fact that ones a direct feed and the other is a off screen recording.

all that said, nfs games will always be the best at sounds period, no other game has come close to underground and most wanted especially
