Need help - 3800 AC fix

I dont remember if it was the IAT, or the sensor by the front of the car that controlled the AC. I know on my old GT, that sensor started to go bad and I never did try to fix it. I was told all you needed to do was pull it out, sand off all the shit, and use some die electric grease. I forget exactly where it is, but IIRC it is by the lower facia.

When I put the front mount I/c on my red car ('00 gtp) i forgot to put the outside sensor back in. It reads 50* no matter what, but on rainy days it would change cause it got shorted out, and would read -15 or lower. Ac would NOT come on unless it read above 45*. That was the '00, digital hvac... But my 02 never had an iac after it was turbo, and the ac was ice cold. So :dunno:
