European cars are getting more power than that with a lot less displacement, and can handle FI no problem.

However, how many of those cars can turn the efficiency numbers the Corvette has?

I have picked a trio of European coupes, with small V8's with similar power to the Corvette's (+/-40) also chose to use only the RWD versions, not the AWD to give a more accurate represetation. Yes they may have similar power, through much less displacement, but none of them can return the highway efficiency of the Corvette.
