since most truck beds are so different from eachother nowadays (gmc's caps won't fit chevy's even that well) they are fucking hard to sell, because past that, different options affect the trucks, and colors matter too to people.

im trying to sell a silver fiberglass leer right now with toolboxes, tracks, etc, for a 2011-2016 superduty without a tailgate step (cuz the cap has a different piece with one ) new this cap is $4k right now. i have it listed for $950 and ive had one guy serious in two months it's been listed. dude bailed cuz he is 3 hours away, needs to get it painted black, has to change the piece on the back because his truck has a tailgate step and doesn't want to drive down here.

to go further too, this truck will be kept 10 years and see 250k-300k miles on it so it makes sense to have a quality piece when basically this whole truck becomes our tech's toolbox basically.

they are universal enough that they can go similar bed size to similar bedsize, forked out from the back, forked into the new one... slick setup because you could just fork shit truck to truck if a truck is being repaired, or if a truck get's replaced, etc.

similar options to what we're getting... we're at $13k.

Fuck I never thought about an expo build out of one of those... Trucks with them sell pretty frequently in my auctions and the cap doesn't increase the value whatsoever from what I have seen. Such a specialized unit that I'm sure most end up getting taken out and sold for pennies on the dollar from their original cost.
