Started on this a few months ago. Goals are 8's, drag week & drive the car on the street a lot. I also wanted a full interior and an ok stereo & speakers (any suggestions would be helpful as I had to remove the rear speakers to install the cage and I know fuckall about car stereos). I got most of the fab done & the engine & turbo in so far.

Dumpsterpat Dumpsterpat what's the details on the engine/turbo setup?
Standard sloppy stuff. Has an 02 4.8 with gapped rings, an SS2 and pac 1218's. Turbo is a billet 80/83 from vs racing with a 50mm gate. Very simple setup. Holley term x and snake eater 1000cc injectors. Ebay fuel rails. I didn't replace anything in the engine other than 1 ring I broke while gapping and the front & rear main seals. I have a gen 3.5 5.3 I was gonna use but this thing refuses to die. It was in another car I built last year.

What'd you do for the fuel pump? In the stock tank?

I did that on my last one and it worked but I'm gonna add a second fuel cell on this one for E85 for drag week and tie them together with shutoff valves on each tank. They feed a magna fuel 4303 I bought used. I'm gonna swap the return line when I switch tanks. I figured it'll be cheaper and easier than buying in tank pumps for both or draining a factory fuel tank every time I get to a track.

So on your last one it was an external inline pump or an in-tank pump?

I'm trying to keep the stock tank on mine and I'm struggling to work the pump situation out while maintaining the fuel level sending unit.

It was in tank. It was a mustang tank with the fuel basket. I used a 3/8 sending unit I can't remember where I bought it. I put 1 450 on that then had a second hanging off a bulkhead with a nipple. I teed the lines and triggered the second pump in boost over 8lbs I think. I did the wiring through a bulkhead and the return through another bulkhead. So three bulkheads and a stockish sending unit. It was a pain and I would not repeat it. If I did another factory tank I'd prolly make the hole bigger and fab a drop in sending unit but I doubt I'd use another fox tank. Calvin nelson did a good job on one in his fairmont wagon. I'll look for the link.

Stole this hot side design from the 8's 4 8 car and it is freaking amazing btw. Ok it's gonna be another 4.8. Opened up the 5.3 to gap the rings and obviously some other jackass had been in there B4 me. I promptly returned to the wrecking yard and retrieved a 4.8 from an 08 express van. The old 4.8's thrust was destroyed most likely by an issue I had with converter spacing on the jegs xhd with the glide (not an issue with a 400). So I ordered a billet 9.5 and have the new 4.8 ready to go in.PXL_20210516_182418598.jpg
