🔧 BUILD I did something stupid V. FRC

General Information

So my T/A build is taking forever and I have been missing having a fun car to tool around with. I also have made some changes in my personal and professional life and decided to treat myself. I had a line on a car in CA that sold a couple weeks ago. As luck would have it I found pretty much an identical car last week and today I picked up an extremely clean 1999 Corvette FRC from a local dealer in the exact color combo I was looking for. I may have paid a little more than I wanted but the car has 37k miles and the interior looks like it was sealed in a time capsule. Plans are up in the air right now but it already has a CAI, LS6 intake, hurst shifter and Borla catback. Short term it’ll get tints, wheels, headers and a cam. Long term I may go off the deep end and forge the motor, throw on a huron speed TT kit and wide body quarters. Right now I’m just going to enjoy it, can’t wait to bring it to Luke’s this week.

I present Corvid 19:

As someone that would like a corvette but can't afford the corvette, I'd still drive the fuck out of a poverty 300 hp one. Even if someone was sliding their cooler full of Truly's across the trunk lid on a frequent basis.
You can afford a Corvette. Just need to find someone that isn't asking way more than it's worth.

You have four vehicles in your signature. You can make it happen.
If I want to get out of IL, no, I can't. The cost of ownership of the two bikes is very small, about $20/mo. That's not a whole lot of contribution to a 'vette. I can sell the G37, but with what I would get for it I'd be getting a 'vette that's going to be older and way more miles.

But, you can do it.

Added some juice to the old girl towards the end of the season. I installed PRC 2.5 LS6 heads, a TSP 233/239 cam, FAST 90 intake and LS2 throttle body. Made 456 rwhp at Speed. It’s a solid streetable combo that is easy to cruise. It could use a higher gear and will need a new clutch sooner rather than later. Winter plans include fixing some nagging issues like a rocking drivers seat and possibly adding cats to the x-pipe because I’m getting sick of the fumes.
