I'm lookinG at a 2011 Mustang GT with possibly a bad engine. The prices of used GT engines are about 1-3K more than the F150's 5.0L at parts yards. I know it has different cams (low torque) and not hardened oil pump gears (in GT) but besides that anything that makes it a bad idea to swap and save some $$?

As far as I know just what’s been stated, guys use truck motors when they plan to do forged internals quite often

I dunno yet it’s a car out of state so no way for me to tell so I consider worst case scenario. Actually it’s listed as mechanical so can be trans or engine but I assumed it’s the engine.
Bad engine how? Not repairable?
