🔧 BUILD CMNT does another Holden thing... Again

General Information

Just reserving space for Holden #2 in my life, as I do things to it.

2009 Sport Red Metallic G8 GT.

I don't have many pics, other than the ones I took in the parking garage the other day when someone (John), finally noticed my signature change.

Car does have scuffs/scratches/etc that a 10 year old would. The previous owner must've hit a curb or something really good because the bottom of the front is cracked, and since this was a Florida car, lots of weatherstripping and other dry rotting. However, interior was spotless the car had less than 38k on it when I bought it. Also has the optional (and spotless) 19's and sunroof.

I'm not going to do a ton to it since it is to be a DD. Just more personalization things. Probably just stick to Intake and axle-backs.

Now with more interior pics;

I haven't done anything. I was gonna hold off on doing this until I did the cam, but it was coating my entire front undercarriage with oil, including the catalytic converter on the passenger side.

I am holding off on all that other stuff as I have taxes coming up on the house and a few other things first.

Many recall I tore the rubber components of my carrier bearing a month or so ago. Well it was torn well before that I am sure, it just got to a point where I noticed it then. So the carrier basically became a glorified driveshaft loop. Thunking and clunking around under hard acceleration or in gear when cold, or even going over bumps you could here it clunking underneath. So I ordered this two piece design from JXB Performance. Since it was nice today, I figured I would get this done.

I was able to do this without dropping the exhaust.

Remnant of the OEM carrier after i cut it out...

It is, but because I didn't drop the exhaust, it was a bitch to install. The holes for the screws to secure the two halves together are right above the exhaust. So I reversed their instructions and bolted the bottom half to the car to give me space to get the Allan wrench in, then tightened them down, which took forever.
