Adding pics from my phone, will add text from my PC.

Work starts soon, so I might not get to this for a bit.

i wanna roll down that hill after several twisted teas.

We had a friend who was drunk and did summersalts all the way from the top of the hill to the bottom. Rumor has it she hurled when she got to the bottom. It's a BIG hill. Takes a lot to walk to the top. A few years ago, some folks lost control of a cart, rolled it and killed two people. Bikes are banned on the hill. This hill is the real deal. Don't take it lightly!

We have a couple of friends who are on cross-country RV trips right now and Jackie has been romanticizing about it. I’ve been looking at rentals, but motor homes don’t seem to often have forward-facing passenger seats for a child seat. I could get a truck from work to tow a camper, but then I’d have to work. Guess what I’m saying is, I’m envious

class b's would be what you're looking for for "safest kid" situation... typically have LATCH

but a class b is fucking tiny compared to Eagle Eagle's new rig.

camper market is batshit crazy right now.

airstream of chicago rents class b's though, a touch pricey but super high end units.

Suspension:
TLDR: Its insufficient at a payload level, but within GCVW. Here are some calcs I ran, based on a calculator I found online:

Curb Weight 7,485.00
GVWR 10,000.00
GCVWR 27,000.00
Payload 2,520.00
Towing Capacity 19,000.00
Estimated Payload
Passengers 500.00
Cargo 250.00
Total payload (minus hitch weight) 750.00
Hitched
Available Payload-845.00
New GVW 10,850.00
NEW GCVW 24,850.00
Towing Capacity 19,000.00

I will add airbags to fix the sag and add the necessary payload capacity, within rear axle weight limits.

Power and drivetrain:
The Cummins engine is a monster, no big secret there. The trans handled the load seemingly fine as well. I found no deficiency in the powertrain at all.

Braking:
The truck brakes alone stand no chance in stopping a combined weight of about 25k#... good thing the trailer brakes are insane! I had to back off the braking controller to 4 to avoid the trailer JERKING the truck every time I touched the brakes. I think I could probably back it off to 3.5 or even 3 for flat land towing. I did a brake test with the trailer empty and the whole rig can stop pretty darn fast all things considered. I have no confidence issues with braking capacity.

Hitch:
I went with the Pullrite Superglide 24k hitch. It provided plenty of space between the cab and nose of the trailer when turning tightly around corners or backing it into the camp site. It wasn't cheap, but the auto slider is the only way I would go... couldn't see using a manual slider hitch setup.

Overall towing experience:
I would say that I started off VERY nervous towing this thing. I am completely comfortable towing my 30' enclosed aluminum sled trailer at quite a fast speed and even in shitty winter weather. This monster is a whole different beast. You can FEEL it behind you. When I was leaving the dealer with this trailer, I think I said "OK!" about 37 times before I made it out of their lot. I literally had to remind myself to breath a few times... its stressful at first. I drove it ~95mi home and another ~80mi to the campground. By the time we got to the campground, I felt pretty comfortable with it. I didn't exceed 67mph at any point with this thing hitched up... which is rare for me!
