Good luck with the continued development, Pittsburgh! 40 yards passing avg in the 4th quarter shouldn't be difficult to improve upon. I don't doubt his heart, but these results are why his time was up here, and why no team wanted him as a starter.
Bears may indeed fuck up the next QB too. But to keep Justin at the helm would have been going with hopeful emotion while ignoring logic and reason.

Um, Wilson only signed a 1yr deal there. Fields will get $24m next year if the Steelers p/u his 5th year option. They arent paying them both next year, so he wont be developing under Wilson. Shit, I wouldnt be shocked if Fields is the starter by week 5-6

Ive mentioned how horrible of a 4th qtr QB he was probably 7-10 times over the last 3 years. But guys on TCG and other Bear fans still rode the Bustin hype train.

He'd show those flashes of athleticism here and there, but was clearly too inconsistent. I don't blame fans for wanting him to be better and hoping he'd keep improving, but there comes a time where you've got to move on. Now, it's just like the past decades of getting ready for a new Bears QB that gives us all hope of being "the one".
Have been posting since J Fields was originally drafted, he will have a great, lucrative career as a back up QB.
Also, have long posted, the Bears do not develop QBs. The last truly successful QB they developed was Mac Mahon, 40 years ago.
Whoever they draft will have to have been born with God given talent that is already on another level.

Historically you're definitely right, I'd say it falls on the coaching staff and OC/QB coach more than anything else though.
We'll see how Waldon/Joseph does. There's some history of success in that area with improving Geoff & Smith, so fingers crossed that translates to rookies
