pressure rose with boost and held steady, not a hint of pulsation, issue improved when reducing ex backpressure, airflow is stalling, probably valves hanging open, either from pumpup or the rockers
as i said hk and dd did some research and others had similar issues with aftermarket rr's so the easy and cheepest test is to swap em out

the only reason we put 1.6 Rollers on it is because I owned them and they were just sitting on the shelf, just like all of my other expensive parts.

PS I have a set of 13k mile stock rockers and heads in the garage somewhere. or maybe they are at ray's house. I don't remember anymore.

Shoulda put it on E-70/75/85 who cares. doesn't make that much of a difference.

I am thinking it is a lifter concern. Short stoke hydraulic roller instead of full stroke stock lifter. There are hydraulic lifter that can run 0.002" preload which will give you more top end. Look up lifters at Comp Cam or GM performance.

I am talking about lifters. where did you get rockers from? I realize these are pedestal mounted rockers but they do make shim for the rockers, at least i thought they did. Also, preload can be adjusted by pushrod length too.

Either way GM builds in more the 0.060" preload into the motors to limit the RPM in the engine and noise.

For rockers you may want to look into measuring the actual rocker arm ratio with light weight spring checkers or solid lifters in order to know maximum lift.
