Yep every experience I had with dt sucked at 3 different locations. LaGrange rd, rt59 in Plainfield and orchard rd. I found a great Mexican named place 5 mins from my house, in and out in 20mins and wheels never scratched.

which place? I’ve always had a good experience at the one on orchard by 88. I usually price shop around before I go in and they’ll price match. Got my last set of wheels and tires over their Memorial Day day and saved a ton.

Yup. Every single 1 of them.

I had 2 years in at INC01 which is still today probably the busiest DTC in NWI. Some days I had 4 hours straight airing up tires. I remember one guy in a v12 benz gave me $20. I also sold a fuck ton of tires and services just by air. You're supposed to inspect the tire and such while you're airing. That's why it's a set it and forget air gauge now. Clip it on, it auto fills, you do your inspection

Every 5k rotate is rediculous. Every 5k balance is redic.

Wait a second. Are you actually rotating just the tires? Is that why you need to re balance them everytime? I'm pretty the rest of us are rotating the 'wheels' when we says tires. Its much easier that way. ;)

No, I think you misunderstood my post.

If you're buying new tires, the average Joe won't have a multi-thousand dollar machine to mount and also balance the new tires.

Simply wrenching off some lugs and moving the tires around is easy enough, and most people have a jack, sockets and a torque wrench.

However, after driving thousands of miles, DT and other tire shops recommend getting rebalances and checking the weights. This goes back to my original post and first comment in this post about having a balancing machine.

Everything time I get a rotation at the dealer, I ask them to check the balance and weights, which is something I cannot do since I don't have that machine.

I can definitely get my truck off all fours using my jacks, stands, etc.

Lol. I had to get two tires installed and balanced, plus an alignment for my wife’s van today. I ordered the tires online, just needed the service.

I was calling around this morning and in the process called 3 different Discount tire locations. None of them answered the phone.

Ended up going on Groupon and bought a 4 wheel alignment for $40, and the shop installed and balanced the tires for $15 a wheel.

Discount tire is no bargain...and we were even able to get right in. We were on our way in an hour!

The Falken tires I bought online were $130 a tire shipped. Discount tire only let you buy the same tire online if you arranged install at one of their locations. After all the charges it was about $180 for the exact same tire. No thanks

That's a very aggressive looking tread pattern. Pretty much the complete opposite of the stealthy Michelin Pilot A/S3+ sitting in the garage right now.

How do you like them so far? What's the noise level like?
It’s basically a ripoff of the Continental DWS. The Falkens are about the same in performance, but a bit softer overall. They are a great bargain, I have them on the wife’s van and my 535. They are holding up great on my 535...and I drive the car hard. On the van though her fronts were essentially bald after two years.

I don’t find the tire loud at all, and since they are a little soft they hook nice. My wagon is on 225’s and was consistently cutting 1.7 sixty foots with them at the track. Sidewalls are medium stiff, so a good comfort performance tire.

Which Falken model are they? I had the Pro G4 A/S on my G37xS and they were shit. All over in the rain, noisy, zero confidence. Snow? Forget it. Those were 245-40R19 squared.

Funnily they were on my girlfriends Honda Fit and did okay.

Mine shredded on I65 in Indiana within 10 seconds of entering a construction zone. Replaced them with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and a huge improvement. They’re a little more firm than necessary but that’s because my [sport] suspension and seats aren’t as complaint. The Continental DWS06 would likely be better, with a sacrifice of cornering. 95% of the time I’d never notice the difference. They Contis are also supposed to be a tad quieter. Might go with them next if I still have the car when the tires burn up.

I had the DWS on my last two 5 series and liked them a lot. They are a really good tire . I just got a great deal on the Falkens so I took a chance on my wife’s van. ZE950/960. I’ve had various Falkens /Oatsu and was pleased enough with them. I liked them enough on her van I got them for my 535. My car is a beast in the snow, and grips great in the wet, but the x-drive May have a lot to do with that

I don’t know offhand the mileage, but this is after two years. They still look pretty good with even tread wear. In the dry, I have no doubt the DWS would best them...and the Pilot sport is far better. In the big picture the overall cost was so low for the Falkens (there was a promotion at the time) it was a no-brainer. I got my 225/50/17’s for around $365 shipped for a set of four. The 245/55/18’s on my wife’s van were a little bit more, might have been about $400 It was a few years ago.
