 fwiw. i have tuned my car since it was turbo. nosecsomeday helped me at the start- pointing me in the general direction... ive done everything since.

and to be honest. you dorks were trolling the OP from the start... with that being said as well.. jay (my97gtp) is one of the most knowledgeable 3800 people i know, and who cares if he wants to pass the headaches of tuning onto someone that is known well and proven? shit. out of everyone in this thread, he has had a turbo car by far the longest

trolling the OP from the start huh? by giving him compliments and then asking LEGIT questions... why don't you sell your tuner KJ? All I'm saying is if you HAVE the tuner and are willing to learn, there are lots of adjustments that can be made and really would help him out being out and away from a lot of the 3800 crowd thats around the city

I'm quite interested to hear how PRJ does with this turbo car, I remember a regal guy going to PRJ for a full "street/strip" tune and I don't think it made anything that great for how much he talked him up

Im not looking for power records here. I have a smaller compressor housing on my 62-1 than most so would probably only max out at around 450. Im just looking to be able to run some decent times and be able to enjoy the car safely. Ive spent alot of time around 3800's but just dont choose to start learning to tune on a cammed turbo car not to mention dont really have the time it takes or the patients right now.

Can you believe that was almost 5 years ago from may of 07. That was when the turbo section was actually fun and knowledgable to read and before the turbo kit became dime a dozen. I miss those days.

Thats still Mike Vs old setup right? That is fucking oooooooooold.

But I forgot. This is a new set up and you need to tune.

DDTrollin up in here.

Does the car have ported heads or no?

So this kit is like an original zzp turbo kit, was it ever designated a model name?

Wondering what the piping looks like

bone stock 97 gtp heads except for 130lb springs and comp retainers. This i believe was called a z6 kit and was more made to order than a kit at the time. Mike Valerio spec'ed if from matt m in probably 05 or 06. http://www.thechicagogarage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=48222 That thread has a few pictures. It is similarly positioned to a ct kit but has the wastegate mounted near the y pipe rather than off the rear manifold. Now has front mount intercooler rather than a.w.

Id personaly would have just kept the tuner and used to to scan and make small changes even if you are not doing the full blown tune yourself. Modded cars need to be monitored. Also nice to be like hey look my shit is kinda lean and you can throw some more fuel at it. Or at the track add some timing to try to get better times if you are not knocking. However in your case id guess you have a boost controller.

Im not a fool i have been around as long as you have and probably done twice as much work my self. I still have a scanmaster for daily scanning of kr and such and have an ls1m still for track scaning and the maf is scaled down using a afc2.0 so you can adjust fueling with that. I plan to have my happy knob operational as well so timing and boost can both be lowered with a turn of a knob if kr goes to high or fuel to lean. If I had the time i would try to learn to tune but just dont feel like it. I dont have internet at home which can make it difficult to check for help when an issue comes up. I would rather right now just have the car running properly and done by the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.
