I'm sure there is some of that going on, but I think its also a testament to just how well its written and how the characters have developed over the seasons.

You got me all wrong. I'm not rooting for Walt because I can relate to him prior to meth... I'm rooting for Walt because I want him to win. I want Walt to go out the king.

And just because Jesse turned a new leaf doesn't meant I'm gonna reward stupidity.

All episode I was hoping skylar was going to off herself. She had that look a few times.
Skylar went along with framing Hank. She's back on my good side.

And if Walt has to die in the end... I want him to be on his death bed, hank by his side...right before he dies,he looks at hank and says "I win". He smiles and scene.

You're just jelly because Jessie thought of magnets first......bitch

There is a part of me that wants to see Walt win, but at the same time I want to see him go down in a hail of fire and bullets too

I think Jessie is trying to force Walts hand by attempting to burn his house down forcing Walt to go to him.

Force Walt's hand? Walt is just gonna call up Meth Damon and have those guys off Jesse.

Speaking of Meth Damon...I find it odd they never addressed his call to Walt in the beginning. Which phone did he call? A burner? Walts regular phone? A voicemail now exists that can be used to nail Walt to the cross.

He called Walt at the beginning? Thought he was calling that lady. At first I thought it was before the whole fight scene of last episode but then the wiping of blood and driving off with the tank cleared that up

He called Walt. He said "Mr. White". Why would he call the lady to tell her that things went bad when she was there?

The fact they showed it not getting totally flushed made me think it will make a return.

I remember Lost was a lot like this. They made it so that people you had initially rooted for were now on the complete opposite side and you still didn't know who was wrong and who was right.

This is a lot clearer cut for me though. Walt has turned into a complete bag of D. He's perpetuating the cycle. Originally we saw Gus as this horrible villain and Walt as the victim but then it became clear that Walt is Gus, maybe even a less merciful more callous version of him.

Writers have a tendency to make it easy to root for someone even if they're in the act of crime. Rooting for Walt when he was just some guy trying to make sure his family had money was easy. Rooting for Walt as he got a little more greedy wasn't as easy but still, he seemed like a likable guy who didn't know when to quit. But liking him now? After killing countless people, having zero loyalty and mind fucking absolutely everyone? That's impossible. Did you guys root for the Joker when you were watching Batman?

The way I see it the show's writers have finally come full circle with Walt's character and now they don't want you to straddle the line anymore. They want to make it clear that Walt is vindictive, callous and only looking out for himself. The writers don't want you to like Walt which is why it's odd seeing people here saying that they're still rooting for him. This thread is the only place I've seen that.

Here's how I predict it goes down... That hillbilly family is going to start cooking meth. They're going to end up killing Walter and replacing him on the food chain. The cycle goes on.

In terms of confronting the issue but this time Jessie has irrefutable evidence. He's putting Walt in the position to do something about it. Not just skirt the issue like he did in the desert and in previous scene's. Jessie is either looking for Walt to come clean about it or put a bullet in him. He doesn't care which it is as he wanted Walt to say or do something in the desert scene, he just wants to hear it from him or do what he does to those that question him. This is why I say Walt is more the bitch. He doesn't have the balls to tell him what he did or kill him. Jessie is forcing Walt to do something now by attempting to set his house on fire.

This of course brings up a very interesting issue. If Walt was so quick to off Mike, Gus, Gayle, etc then why is he so hesitant in dealing with Jessie. Maybe Walt feels guilt and remorse about it whereas Mike and the others were just a speedbump to the WW Meth Enterprise.

That's how I've figured it...I think the writing is better than that, though.
