That's a good call man. I know winter doesn't have much left and all but a set of winters wouldn't be a bad investment.

With the stock 255s and the 3.73s, you'll kick it loose through 2nd no problem.

Congrats to wifey Eagle. haha Great cars. I only drove mine for 5 days but enjoyed it sooooo much. I also can't wait to get some warm weather and dry roads.

As far as mods go I would suspect you may want to keep the warranty. Correct? That limits the mods you can do power wise. Talk to your dealer about FRPP parts and installation of them. That is about the only way to keep a warranty on the car. Even then there are limitations. Example would be the suspension pack. If you have the dealer install it you keep the warranty. But the parts are under the FRPP warranty. So lets say you blow out the shock. The dealer has to remove and replace the shock. But they have to send the shock in to FRPP for replacement. So that means longer repair times because they have to wait on FRPP to get the shock, inspect it, approve the replacement and then ship the replacement. Just some thing to think about.

The power pack makes some nice changes. The GT500 mufflers sound great. No drone either. The Pro-Cal tune does not make the killer power that the aftermarket tunes make. But you have an engine issue and they say the aftermarket tune is at fault you are responsible for the parts and repair labor. Another thing to think about. haha The Pro-Cal tune only makes like an additional 16hp & 7 tq more at peak. But makes upwards of 60ftlbs of extra torque at 1500 rpm! From what I have read the tune makes great power under the curve, has improved throttle response and better all around driving experience. The extra torque should make for a much more enjoyable street car.

Off road H or X pipes make more power but you need an aftermarket tune. So unless you are willing to risk the warranty your power options are limited.

Sure looks like it.

Dan, you might want to try and get a hold of Brian and see if he can verify the VIN number. He can give you info on the car then.

The gearing on the M6 trans is very close. The 1st gear with the 3.73 makes it like a granny gear. Second gear in this trans is what a lot of other transmissions use for 1st gear. So that gearing can cause traction issues in 2nd. haha I was actually spinning in 3rd and 4th when it was 40 degrees outside. These cars make great power but the stock narrow tires & compound are not really up the the challenge of hooking up well. haha

That's what I was getting at. First gear is stupid short, 3.66 ratio. Second drops to 2.43, which is what the first gear in the M6 GTO is. With the 3.73s I'm already at 3.5k RPM barely doing 15mph. It's ridiculous. I end up starting in 2nd half the time.

Ya I start is second gear a lot too. Plus I use every other gear a lot. And I drive around in 6th gear at 35mph. But doing that in city driving on my first tank netted me 19mpg.

The gearing is crazy in that trans. But it makes spirited driving fun as it keeps it in the power band.

My average econ says 18.2mpg. I'm probably barely kissing 20mpg when cruising.

1st is basically useless! Driving on the street, I'm starting off in 2nd 90% of the time.

Stock tires on this car are the Pirelli p-zeros, 255/40/19s if I recall. I wonder what tire will fit on these wheels...

What kinda floor mats you guys running? I was thinking weathertechs... I'd prefer carpeted, but those will go to hell quick being that this thing is a year round DD... thoughts?

Finally, the car didn't come with an engine cover. Bull Valley Ford basically refused to "give" me one, but cut me a "deal" on an actual Ford cover. It works out to cost me $130, for the $220 part. I found them on Summit Racing too though... and MUCH cheaper (retail) with the plastic valve covers too:

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FM...-M50/?rtype=10

You guys think the Summit covers are going to be any different than Ford covers?

And now you know why I think Bull Valley Ford has a bunch of slimeball assholes for salesmen. More so than most, at least. Fuck em. Buy the entire engine cover from Summit.

As for floor mats, dunno. I thought about picking some up but the other night was the first time I've driven it in this weather. No need for me, that is.

1st 3.66
2nd 2.43
3rd 1.69
4th 1.32
5th 1.00
6th 0.65

Installed rear end gear 3.73, means first gear is 13.65:1, second is 9.06:1.

Compare that to the T56 that came in my car:
Borg Warner T56 6-speed Manual
Gear Ratios : 2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .74, .50

First w/the same 3.73s is 9.06:1, the same as the Mustang's 2nd gear.

You must take into account the engines ability to rev. The redline on the Mustang is 1k higher than that of your LS1. I wouldn't start in second, unnecessary wear on the clutch.

I have carpeted floor mats I found on craigslist. They are the $119 ones that have the '5.0' embroidered in them. They are nice and even have the hold down straps for the OE tabs. I scored them almost new for $40. Boom! haha

The weathertechs units are real nice. I had them in my truck in winter. I believe they make them in carpeted versions too. Or another company has the same 'severe weather' mats that are available in carpet. Worth looking into if she if going to drive it all year round. They work great at holding the slush, water, salt and grime on the floor mats.

Also, Tousley Ford is cheap on parts. Buyfordracing.com
is super cheap for FRPP parts. buyfordpartsonline.com is cheap for OE Ford parts. Check them out for the engine cover. Or email Brian for the one from your car. haha

Again, the second gear ratio in this car is what most cars have in 1st gear. No different than 1st in a lot of other cars. Plus the 3.73 gear helps a ton.

If it does wear out it gives me an excuse to buy a good clutch for the car. hahaha
