I think the 8 speed auto is helping bring down the drag time A LOT. Probably a good 2 tenths.

What the screen shows and what the actual data output once download shows is likely different. I wouldn't be surprised if there were lag in the display.

also a lighter car, and that car, unlike the c7 z06, didn't have as much down force as jupiter has gravity.

Yep totally. C6Z is still a force to be reckoned with. One thing we do forget about those ranger runs, is hes basically a pro driver. I took the time to look at all his material back in the day when I had my corvette and was looking at improving my passes and driving. Hes meticulous about documenting everything about every single pass. Thats just the tip of what he puts into racing. His videos are awesome. Hes also the one that figured out why the C6 clutches performed like shit after just a few hundred miles. He came up with the "ranger method" of cycling out old contaminated clutch fluid for clean fluid. I experienced those clutch woes on my brand new 07 C6 with just 1500 miles. The pedal would stick to the floor on hard shifts, and it would be hard to shift in general. Swap out the fluid, and it was night and day. Good guy Ranger. Hes been MIA from corvette forum for a few years tho. I hope he didnt die. Hes an old guy FYI...

Big think to note is the difference in mph. I realize the C7 is an auto but there is a 5 mph difference when comparing apples to apples.

Oh and KJ, since we are comparing the 2 with all things equal, the C7 needs to make up 3 tenths.
