This kind of staining usually fades out after a week or two in the sun.
Best guess is that the clearcoat has been stained by the pigments in the dip. A 2 coats of gunmetal as a basecoat might help in the future.

It did work! We saw pieces of orange gone that looked like a rock hit it.God, that would piss me off so badly. You go out of your way to protect your car with a product that's designed to protect your car. And it costs you many hours of aggravation and fear of a paint job.
Glad to hear you were able to correct it.
Did it at least protect your car from chips?
I've done my trunk and front bumper (plastic and metal). Removal is always a bitch but I didn't have any paint side effects like turk but I also only used black and probably put 5/6 coats on it. The thicker the better for dip. Its not like regular spray paint. It works ok on wheels, I only put it on stuff that I don't care about normally on beaters that the rims look like garbage to begin with, I've never done any body panels with it though
Fair argumentyou probably didn't notice any paint side effects because of the GM junk-ass-paint you were putting it on.
i dont think any domestic manufacturer has decent paint.

It's not just domestic. It's imports too. It's because of the EPA mandated water based paints.

I disagree with my own experience with 3 german cars, the paint seems to have a thick luscious clear on it.
ok... then for cars built here
sikkens ftw.
Woke up early and spent a few more hours on it. One more pass with compound and polish. Tested in every single light, including the sun which everybody knows reveals everything. Looks like I got the paint back to normal. The more I think about it, the more I think the dip just left something baked on the paint, and I didn't have any product to get rid of it, nor would I know what product would get rid of it. Either way, lesson learned.
