Heres pics (of pics) of his boss, one is when it was in CARS magazine. Other is from world of wheels show. And a pic of his camaro him and his friends built.. Old school door slammer. 505 c.i., one carb. Bow tie heads, TH400, 9", car weighed almost nothing. No power adders. N/A in early to mid 1990s his camaro went 8.50s-8.60s. Took them like 7 years to build it would take first place from.world of wheels too

This was a running v6 z34 lumina a few weeks before this picture. My trans guy built it.. 632" big block chevy, fogger. This motor was in his 78 malibu u flipped thru the lights on a high seven second pass. Wheelie bars from malibu were stuck in guard rail left lane at no limit race way 41 car ended up by return road kinda

I should have put an * because I meant for his particular build

Given his mods he has potential for 11s kinda like smug... add a shot and there ya go

sorry I'm in a bad mood about the transmissions for these cars right now and going turbo doesn't help any lol

Still seems a lot easier to hit 11s with a hairdryer, and Id assume the turbo would be easier on the trans and other hard parts than a full M90 build. Either way you need to be at a certain power level to hit his #s so if seems you either need a Ron vogel miracle or a built trans. I guess im going to be a bit of a guinea pig for a mild DD turbo 3800 as far as I can tell, and we will see cause I drive about 300 miles a week.

Both of us will i think.. I have a mild DD turbo 3800. No race car here. Dyno'd 340 to the wheels with the previous owner. Only thing I'm changing is putting in 1.9 rockers, unless I just put them on the sc'd car (probably not).

How long have you been DDing it and how much boost? Stock trans and chain?

I just bought it the first of feb and only put on 1k but the PO had over 70,000 miles on stock engine and trans turbo'd at 10psi. I'm in the process of sending out the turbo as it needs rebuilt but the trans was just rebuilt and the short block replaced before I got it.

Yea i drive this car everywhere, i bought in 07 with 30k, now has 160k, this car ran decent with tog headers, 3" catless dp, 1.9 rockers, 3.4 pulley k&n cai, and i been polishing my damn supercharger for weeks. Its been hell. This whole 3800 platform is soooo complicated lol hey whats with these complications im always hearing on MLS gaskets. My stepfather is helping me build it. Hes old school... Built 6 sec motors for some of the chicago wise guys circuit. And builds motors at van senus for i dont know how long. Hes been around for a while. And im always telling him the nightmares with these motors.

What up man? I'm an ex-3800 guy. had an 04 GTP. Just like everything else you need to educate yourself. You might just be a little overwhelmed with all the knowledge and info, but these motors arent that hard to work on. All these people are great on here and they know what they're talking about. Just sit back read and it will all stick. Good luck tough guy :)
