Thought I would move this from the new member section to the member ride section. Ethyl is a 2004 GTO, one of the older slower LS1 versions. She's got nearly 100,000 miles on her and has been through a lot of mods. Currently she is just coming back together after our initial shakedown runs last March. The shakedown was exciting and represented the culmination of about 2 years of work. We had built a twin turbo LQ9 which we rolled out in 2013 but lost the crank and relucter wheel.
We replaced all that with a 434 Ci LSx in 2014 and had her on the track by early 2015. The shakedown had some good and bad. The good news was there was plenty of power, the bad news was we only got about 60% of it to the ground. She made 1256/1504 on the dyno with 23 lbs of boost through the Boost Leash II Co2 controller. On the dyno she made 760/760 on 8 PSI. At the track she put down a 10.43 @ 137 on 8 psi and 9.29 @ 154 on 16 lbs of boost. We could not launch under any boost at all. Fact is we could not bring the boost on until about a second into the run. The bad news was the IRS suspension was just too loose to handle the power. With a 154 trap she is the third fastest IRS GTO for now. She clearly has some 8 second passes in her. There have been 4 that made quicker passes but two of them are being parted out or modified with SRA swaps.
We've worked about two months on the suspension and we decided to up the twins to Comp 6766's from the 6266's we had on the car in March. Here are a few videos of the dyno and the passes in March. Enjoy
