Oh shit, they're about the same today.
I pre ordered mine, stage one
Detachable sissy bar, lots of custom stuff
$800 reinhardt drag pipes etc

oh.

well CPI would put 21k at 27k nowadays.

i don't think it's the pricing, plenty of people have expendable income currently.

i mean boats & rv's are up such stupid numbers... i think the danger of riding coupled with the image harley used to (and some may argue, still do) convey, hurts harley the most.

millenials, don't care about harley i'd bet, which is a HUGE demographic currently, with money.

wow that's crazy.

id be nervous because that's such a niche thing with so much brand equity, that you HAVE to turn it around quickly.

When the fees on top of the bike purchase end up being north of $3,000 when you buy new it's kinda hard to stomach it. My $12,700 dyna was somewhere in the neighborhood of $16,000 once everything was all said and done. That doesn't account for the typical 8% + Financing rates, which when they presented that to me I told them to fuck off and walked away from the deal.

A day later they figured out how to give me 1.9% :dunno:

I always loved the show. Learned a lot about fab and stuff from Rick and Vinnie. Even tho they don't explain what they're doing in the show I always watched what they did.

Could be awesome. Could suck. Whatever.

Plus Mikey is awesome
I follow Rick Petko on IG and he does neat stuff these days.

Mine was a 88 and against my brother's 107 he would leave me in the dust easily 5-6 car lengths, his bike being a fully loaded street glide he had to have north of a hundred pounds on me too. With the new 6 speeds he could also cruise at 80-90mph where if I was above 80 it would vibrate me to death.

Oh I also donated some casino cash to ya :thumbup:

As for OCC, I enjoyed their show from a builders perspective, wasn't much of a fan of Jr.'s design skills as I thought most of it was a bit trashy.

I may give the new show a shot to see what it's all about but I think their heyday is over.

We have two of their theme bikes down in our lobby.

This one;

Both are gorgeous machines with incredible attention to detail. But like Spivitz points out earlier, I would hate to ride one any substantial distance. Even my barcalounger of a Harley back in the day (An Ultra-Classic), after so long, I needed to take a break. And that had a suspension...

God that looks brutal...no seat and no suspension. You'd have to pay me to ride that thing over 10 miles

Yea, sorry. The SHC rent-a-cops would've tackled me and gang raped me if I stepped one inch out of line...

The first :40 seconds of this is exactly what it would be like;

These things could use a good dusting at least. And I'm sure the Die-Hard batteries to start them are long since dead.

All of them had beautiful bikes to be quite honest. I just wasn't into James style, or maybe it was one of the other popular ones on that biker build-off show. They were CAFE style racers, which don't appeal to me. But still gorgeous works of art regardless.

Jessie James is a incredible fabricator and craftsman, he built his bikes around those 2 things which is why he lost. The audience and voters probably had no clue how to build a bike so it was about the "over the top styling" which was never his focus.

If I had money to burn for a custom bike I'd go see JJ or just about anyone before I went to OCC.
