how hard is it to pull the lift?
Why would your 4 low take a shit? You use it?
Why would your 4 low take a shit? You use it?
wait, was it lifted when you bought it?
I just reread your first post.... You said bumper to bumper warranty? Your b2b would be expired right now being a 2011. This repair should obv fall under the power train warranty. Are you referring to a service contract you purchased at time of sale? I know a lot of dealers mislead customers telling them the service contract is a b2b warranty
I have never used 4-low. Previous owner maybe had.
No it was not. Only thing I didn't change were the wheels. Those were on the truck when I purchased it.
I bought the truck from Naperville Toyota on February, 1 2014. That's when I bought the warranty. It is a bumper to bumper warranty. 4/48,000. I am hesitant with taking the truck to Dan wolf Chevy for the repair(this is where Toyota takes it when I bring it in for warranty claims since they own both dealers). The service advisors are not the nicest to deal with.
Take it to another Chevrolet dealer then. This should fall under the GM powertrain warranty so that will take precedence over any optional warranties you purchased at time of sale. Being a 4 inch lift you will be fine. I don't even bother looking at one unless it's at least a 6 inch lift or above. It's not worth my time otherwise.
I'm just trying to imagine what broke to make 4 low inop, but 4 high works fine. They use the same actuator, it just spins in a different direction for 4low.
Which dealer would you recommend taking it to that is friendly so-to-speak with lifts?
I'd like to know myself. The shop said that 4-high is fine, but when it's switched to 4-low it makes all sorts of noises like something is rattling around in the case. I have never tried it out myself since I don't want to risk it getting stuck in 4-low.
Sounds like the planetary let go or something
No way of telling. If something comes apart inside a case there is no rhyme or reason as to what it will do
