2008 and newer gmt900 3/4 & 1 ton trucks had 6L80e's or higher (my truck's RPO tag says 6L95e)
2007*

They had classics and nnbs in 2007. Mine is the first year for the 6 speed. Also it feels so much faster than my turd 5.3 truck. The 6l80 in the first years apparently had issues. Mine does some odd upshift down shift stuff 2-3. It’s like it has to think for a second if it wants to upshift or stay in second when I let off.

No I saw it. Clearly.

I'm proud of you

I knew they had gmt800s and gmt900's in 2007, I just had thought some of the GMT900's had 4L80e's at the start

Yes. Notice I said the torque curve is comparable between the 6.0 and 5.4 3v. Peak power numbers matter very little when towing.

I know you said that

I mentioned the power differences because you tried comparing your 2000 early 6.0, 300hp truck, to the newer ones, which is very much different.

I hate pulling with my 6.0 Chevy. It blows ass.

It should also be noted that the 6.0 gm and 5.4l 3v ford have very similar torque curves. They are both going to pull crappy, but will get you there.

It should be noted that the Ford has a much better tramsmission.

I've towed with both, the gmt800/4 speed/early 6.0 trucks pulled like you said, meh... i'd MUCH rather have a newer gmt900/6 speed/later 6.0 truck.

they tow much much better.

2008 and newer gm 3/4 and 1 tons will be 6 speeds though

also much different 6.0's than a 2000. so definitely not apples to apples here.

Going further, your 2000 6.0 is 300hp, 4 speed, which is 300hp/360ft lbs.

the newer 6.0s were 360hp/380ft lbs.

I don't see the difference. My racing buddy has a 2011 2500hd with the 6.0. Pulling his car on the interstate with an open trailer, it shifts back and forth between 4th and 5th gear all the time.

Him and I also did a few roll races. My Chevy vs his. Mine walked away every time.

The torque curve between the two is very similar. Peak power doesn't seem to make a difference.

weird. must be rear end gears or something.

my truck cruises just fine not searching for gears at 75 with 9-10k worth of boat and significant wind resistance behind it. I think 4.10 gears are almost necessary behind the 6 speeds.

My definition of truck is pretty much anything that is sold as a pickup as well as SUV/ has a full frame under it.

For sake of argument no it's not a truck, just another aggravating nuance with drivetrain options to remember lol
They always seem to do funky shit with the suvs drivetrain wise

I have 3.73's. Not sure what he's got though. I didn't know the HD's came with anything other than 4.10's.
